Originally built in 1973, Doofers was named after the first owner Walt Grif-Inn. Gus Routos purchased Doofers Tavern in 1982. After 11 years of being an accountant, Gus decided to try his hand at owning a bar. The Routos family had been in the restaurant business for years and had plenty of advice and experience to lend as Doofer's was established. In 1982 Doofers was a simple tavern with no windows, 2 pool tables, and a small kitchen - much different than the spacious bar and grill it is today.

This place just gets in your skin, and then you crave it forever. Food's great, beer is cold, and the servers are friendly and good at their jobs. Been taking my kids here after hockey for years; we love it.
Always a great choice when we meet up with friends. Big portion sizes and tasty! Even on a Friday night, it didn't take long to find a table. Great service!
The burgers were the best! Thick patties with lots of toppings. Choice of potato salad, fries, tater tots, onion rings or salad! YUMMY!
